Maggie Sottero in the Suffolk Countryside

Looking beautiful in her Maggie Sottero dress, Kelly tells the story of her wedding to her dashing groom Tim.  Married in a famous Cathedral, they later celebrated their wedding in the open Suffolk Countryside…

Love in the countryside: Tim and Kelly celebrate their wedding

Kelly met Tim in a seminar in their first term at the University of East Anglia in 2008.  They instantly hit it off when they worked together in a group project studying Business Management.

Kelly says:

Tim and I got married on the 30th May 2015 at St Edmundsbury Cathedral.  The Cathedral is very special to Tim’s family – as he was a chorister when he was younger and his parents go to services at least once a week.

Tim’s dad Stewart is also the Head Warden at the Cathedral and is heavily involved with the running of it.  Since they had all the connections there we felt it was the best place for us to get married.  It is a stunning Cathedral!

Our bridal party was made up of 3 Bridesmaids, my 2 closest friends from university and my best friend from home.  Tim’s best man was his brother Rob, with my brother and his older brother being Ushers.

We held our reception at The Granary Barns in Woodditton, Suffolk.  We had heard of The Granary Barns through some family friends so we decided to take a trip over.

As soon as we walked into the barn we new that it was where we wanted our reception. The staff at the granary were so helpful and the barn itself is beautiful – we didn’t even look at another venue.

The Maggie Sottero Dress

My mum was very keen for me to visit Brides by Solo as she bought her wedding dress there 30 years ago!  So we made it a must to go over and see what they had to offer.

When my Maggie Sottero dress was pulled off the rack for me to try on I wasn’t sure it would suit me – however I was soon convinced to try it on and we all instantly felt it could be ‘the one’.

A couple of weeks later we went back over to Brides by Solo specifically to try my dress back on and then I fell in love with it.

The dress made me feel like a princess and was everything I wanted in a dress, just not what I expected to wear – which made it even better!

manandwifeTim was determined not to turn around as I walked down the aisle, but his Best Man made him turn when he saw me.  Tim had the hugest smile and a tear in his eye.

I was so excited to wear my Maggie Sottero dress on the big day!

I had a beautiful veil and tiara both from Brides by Solo which just finished off my dress.  The veil was very simple with crystals around the bottom.

Every time I went for fittings I loved my dress even more and I smiled the whole way through my day.

We had the most amazing and perfect day from the moment it started to when it ended.  We have both never smiled so much and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Every single detail was exactly how it had been planned and it made the day by far the best days of our lives.

Honestly I hadn’t heard of Maggie Sottero, but I didn’t spend ages looking for dresses so I wasn’t swayed into a dress that wasn’t as nice.

Now I have bought a Maggie Sottero dress I would definitely recommend them as they are a lovely fit and are made to a really high standard.

Congratulations to Kelly and Tim on the occasion of their marriage!
