Autumn wedding hairstyles for guests
Summer may be over, but that doesn’t mean that wedding season is. As autumn weddings become increasingly popular, more and more clients are coming into my salon asking about the trendy hairstyles for wedding guests this season.
Whether you’re going for an elegant, polished look or something more along the lines of ‘carefully dishevelled’, a ballerina inspired high bun can be styled a number of different ways to suit the tastes of any wedding attendee. For a more formal affair, sleek all of your hair back. While guests attending rustic, autumn themed weddings can go for a messy bun with some pieces of hair left down and placed carefully around the face. Tie in another hot fall trend by parting your hair directly down the centre.
Braids and twists
This trend was seen at weddings all throughout the summer and it looks like it’s going to continue into the autumn months. A braid off to the side, like the one sported by Emma Stone at the 2014 Met Gala, offers a relaxed, yet romantic touch. Or try mixing braids and twists into your favourite up-do to provide a different take on a classic look. The great thing about braids and twists is that they’re versatile and can be more or less elegant depending on how messy, or tight, you make them.
While 30s and 40s silver screen inspired styles were all the rage this summer, the change of season is going to bring us a couple decades forward with styles from the 1960s taking centre stage. Look like you stepped right off the set of Mad Men by sporting a pulled back bouffant or leaving your hair down in flowing, voluminous curls. If you really want to look the part, try a modified beehive like the one worn by Tyra Banks at this year’s Sports Illustrated party.
Whichever of these hairstyles you choose to show off at the weddings you’ll be attending this season, you’re sure to stand out amongst the crowd.
