YouTube makeup pros

There are two things I simply cannot live without: my tube of Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick and YouTube.

Like wearing red lipstick everyday, I have made it a regular habit to check out my favourite makeup vloggers online for the latest products, trends and tricks of the trade. I myself have learned so much by watching these pros work their magic on bare faces like an artist on blank canvas. From brush techniques to highlighting tips to exciting colour palettes, the learning curve never ends.

For brides-to-be, I suggest exploring cyberspace to research on makeup looks you’d like to show your makeup artist before your trial.

But with so many vloggers out there, where should you begin? Here are some of my favourite makeup artists that I think are worth checking out in between your Facebooking time:

Pro style: Lisa Eldridge

Lisa Eldridge is a London-based professional makeup artist well known in the industry for her vast experience working with top photographers, fashion magazines, and name-droppable models and celebrities like Alexa Chung, Cate Blanchett, Kate Moss, Cameron Diaz and Emma Watson. She has been tapped by top brands Shiseido and Chanel and was appointed Creative Director of No. 7, tasked to re-launch the British cosmetics brand.

Lisa’s online makeup tutorials are very accessible, fresh and, dare I say, quite addictive! One of my faves is her lesson on recreating Marilyn Monroe’s signature makeup look for inspiration. For brides, do take notes on her tutorial on creating a classic bridal look.

Feminine fatale: Sona Gasparian

Sonia Gasparian is my best reference for beautiful bridal makeup looks that stand out.  A professional makeup artist, Sonia has worked with many brides offering a range of looks that are bold and dramatic, plus she has shared much insight from her own bridal shower and engagement photo shoots.

Britpop princess: Patricia Bright

Patricia’s vibrant blog and YouTube videos share a range of beauty tutorials for women with darker skin – covering it all from skin care routines to makeup and hairstyles. For brides with darker skin, her wedding makeup vlog has some great tips with bold eye looks incorporating a beautiful colour palette – plus inspiring stories from her wedding, including scenes from her own makeup trial.

Feel free to explore the internet and discover your own personal favourites!
