Manolo Blahnik: dream wedding, dream shoes

Just last week my girlfriend Jeanette came to me begging for help with picking out a pair of designer wedding shoes. We have similar tastes when it comes to our dream weddings, which is why I’m insisting she wear Manolo Blahniks.

Manolo, oh Manolo, how do I love thee

Manolo Blahnik 101

Manolo Blahnik’s shoes are a favourite amongst celebrities and some might even say that he’s the world’s most influential footwear designer. I fell in love with Manolos while watching the TV series Sex in the City. The lead Carrie Bradshaw (my personal fashion role model!) raved about them in numerous episodes. With their fashion first style, Manolos are a must for any shoe addict and an excellent choice for brides-to-be.

The bridal collection

Brides who want to splurge on designer shoes for their wedding don’t need to look any further. Whether you’re looking for something glamorous, yet elegant, or a shoe that’s a little bolder, there is a pair of Manolo Blahnik waiting for you. Numerous celebrity brides have been spotted wearing this designer at their own wedding, with Olivia Palermo joining the list when she tied the knot in the stunning blue satinHangisi’ stilettos earlier this year. These shoes are my personal favourites for any bride since they offer a chance to show off that ‘something blue’. However, if you’re looking for a less colourful shoe, I’d go for the ‘SedarabyD’Orsay Pump. The sleek, metallic coloured peep-toe, featuring a jewel-encrusted brooch, would match any bride’s wedding day style.

Let’s shop!

Now that you’re drooling over the possibilities of saying “I do” in Manolo Blahnik, it’s time to visit one of the boutiques that can be found in the big cities around the world. If you’re in London you’re in luck because not only is it home to five boutiques, but one of them is the flagship store in the fashionable Chelsea district.

I can’t wait to take Jeanette to one of the Manolo Blahnik boutiques in the upcoming weeks. Who knows, I may even find a pair I’d like to take home myself!
