Finding wedding photographers: references, research & recommendations
Our wedding day is a day to remember forever. It is really important that the memories captured in the photos are perfect and this is why it’s essential to get the right wedding photographer. There are a number of different styles that can be used, so it’s worth investigating before settling on one.
I really liked the look of Olivia Palermo’s wedding photos. I loved the emotion that the photos have. They seem to tell a story and that really struck a chord with me. When shooting a wedding, we photographers have to remember that it is just one page in the life story of a couple. It is our job to show all of the emotions that come with the whole story.
There are various ways to find a wedding photographer. The most important thing to remember is that it isn’t a decision to take lightly; otherwise you could regret it for the rest of your life.
Word of mouth
One excellent option is through recommendations. If you like the look of a friend or relative’s wedding photos, go and have a chat with the person who shot theirs. Speak to your friend or relative to find out how the photographer was, whether he (or she) spent time getting to know them as a couple, their story, and what they wanted from their wedding photos. Ask to see other photos in the photographer’s portfolio to check that their style is what you want.
Look them up
Wedding directories and internet searches are also good resources for finding decent photographers. You can normally view the photographer’s portfolios on their websites online, but it is really important to meet the photographers face to face before contracting them. You need to have a good energy and understanding with the photographer in order for them toreally capture the emotion of your big day. If possible, get some references and speak to previous clients to find out how their experience went.
Your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life. Finding the right photographer ensures that the memories and emotions will never fade.
