A look at what some of the celebrities have been wearing this year at the most talked about weddings.
Fairy tale princess
Kaley Cuoco weds Ryan Sweeting on 31st Dec 2013 in California
Designer- Vera Wang
For all the brides who want a non-traditional colour. Kaley looked breathtaking in a strapless petal pink gown. Custom made, with a sweetheart neckline. Hand gathered details on the bodice & Chantilly lace appliques decorated the ensemble. A nude tulle petal pink veil with co-ordinating applique Chantilly lace detailing. Romantic yet fashion-forward. How stunning.
Minimalistic and Bohemian (had 2 wedding dresses)
Poppy Delevingne weds James Cook on 16th May in London then a week later in Marrakesh.
Karl Lagerfeld updated this version from the original 2009 collection. It was custom made with the original silhouette. Simple and delicate beads covered the bodice and the sheer floor length underskirt. Subtle floral applique decorated the skirts hemline and the body of the dress.
Designer- Emily Pucci
Poppy’s second dress was more of a relaxed style to fit with her Moroccan-themed hippy vibe. Her beautiful full length 70’s inspired gown with blouson sleeves was covered with pretty pastel coloured flowers. How spectacular were both of these dresses.
Sophisticated and Sexy
Kim Kardashian weds Kanye West on 24th may in Italy
Designer- Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy
Kim looked sophisticated and oh so chic in a lace ensemble which featured strategically placed sheer panels and an entire sheer back. Elegant yet tastefully sexy and perfectly tailored to highlight Kim’s figure. Delicate lace covered the chest area and clever triangular cut outs at the waistline showed off some of her bare skin. With a matching long trimmed silk veil, the intricate detailing was outstanding. How breath-taking was this design.
Preppy and Cool
Olivia Palermo weds Johannes Huebl on 28th June 2014 in New York
Designer- Caroline Herrara
Olivia wore not one but a three piece ensemble, which was beyond stylish. A simple cream cashmere jumper with scattered ostrich feathers, a pair of chic white shorts and a full tulle skirt overlay with a high slit in the front. The skirt was clinched in at the waist in layers of satin and silk, with floral details along the hem. Her deep cobalt blue Manolo Blahniks completed her utterly amazing look. How unbelievably cool and stylish.
Fearne Cotton weds Jesse Wood on 4th July in London
Fearne’s custom made wedding dress was a pretty vintage-inspired ballet length design with a full skirt, gathered bodice and shimmering sequinned panelled neckline, with cute short sleeves. Her sparkling silver sandals perfectly matched the sequins on the dress, and were on full display under a shorter hemline. There was no veil for the modern girl, but a bohemian headband finished off her look perfectly. A modern city bride. How dazzling.
