Hanbury Manor Spa Day

Hanbury Manor Spa Day

Whether it’s before your wedding day, a present for your besties birthday or a treat for Mother’s Day, there’s nothing better than a lovely pamper day with family or friends. I recently visited Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire with my mother for a Spa Day and afternoon tea. I live in Essex and have been here before for afternoon tea which was fab so I thought what better way to celebrate getting back in shape after having baby Rocco than a pamper/ spa day with my mum so we decided to checkout the spa at Hanbury Manor and were not disappointed.

The thing about being pregnant although a wonderful experience is there’s so many restrictions on what you can and can’t eat and do etc especially when it comes to beauty treatments. Then you think, I can’t wait till baby is born because then I can start having treatments again but personally I forgot then when your breastfeeding there’s a whole nother level of restrictions.

We booked our spa day which was due to start around 9.30 am then I realised I’d forgotten something major; Omg my hubby can’t have baby all day because I’m breastfeeding???

So we decided we would get there for 9ish enjoy the spa have an early morning treatment and get hubby to drop off baby at lunch. So we arrived at 9am the staff were lovely and showed us to our lockers. We decided to chill out read some mags for a bit, then I managed about 20 laps of the gorgeous pool before my incredibly relaxing 11am massage. My therapist was great and both mum and I seriously rated our massages. Then we headed for lunch on the terrace overlooking the golf course. The food was amazing, the view was idyllic and then reality set in when my hubby arrived and met us for lunch. I then thought in my head the relaxation of the day would be over however I was so wrong.

After lunch on the terrace in our robes, we were chilling in the lobby of the spa when I noticed they have baby swim nappies for sale. So instead of rushing to get dressed and leave the spa we then had a gorgeous afternoon with Rocco being able to join us in the pool. Wow could my day get any better?

image imageAfter our swim we showered and got ready for a tour of the grounds ( including the 18hole championship golf course) before our afternoon tea. In terms of the changing rooms, they were lovely and modern, spacious and had baby changing facilities. There’s nothing worse than going for a spa day and the changing rooms and showers being tired and a bit dirty so I was really pleased when I saw the lovely clean and modern showers and changing facilities.. Definitely an extra star here!

It also made me think how ideal a setting for a weekend away with your partner, they can indulge in a spot of golf while us ladies our pampered and get to chill in the spa.

Afternoon tea was also delish, in a very decadent setting. More importantly they also cater for gluten free options.

Whilst on my tour of the grounds the incredibly knowledgeable manager Paul showed us their stunning settings for weddings and even bespoke picnics in the secret garden. Ok so now I’m a little bit obsessed in Hanbury Manor and want to renew my wedding vows for the chance to have a chilled and decadent wedding party and spa weekend.

Thanks to Hanbury Manor and their lovely staff we had a truly enjoyable and relaxing day.
